This Thick Thousand Island Dip and Spread uses only three ingredients and a simple trick to make this sauce thick and easy to spread.
Put the 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish in a fine strainer placed over a bowl or sink.
Use the back of a soup spoon to press the syrup from the relish. The syrup will end up in the bowl below the strainer. Discard the syrup.
Combine the pressed sweet pickle relish, 1 cup canola mayonnaise, and 2 Tablespoons ketchup in a medium bowl.
Mix everything together until well blended.
That's all there is to it. Keep in a jar, or other container with a tightly sealed lid, in the refrigerator until ready to use.
